We are back with more business contradictions, this time we are tackling is visibility more than video?

Speaker 1:

We are back with part three of Business Contradictions, and tonight we're gonna do one that's pretty close to my heart and that is Visibility. And I will be the first to say that when I started this journey of being the self-proclaimed Visibility Queen back in 2019, yes, I 100% meant video when I called myself the Visibility Queen, and I do believe that, again, there can be very contradiction there can be so many contradictions in duality when I say this, but I do believe that you do not have to be on video to create a successful business. Okay, good to say that. However, I will say that I do believe, for most people, you're gonna build a much faster, like no one trusts presence, attract more raving fans faster through video than any other medium. Meaning, if I typed this post out, that I'm saying to you right now versus I'm showing up on camera, you're going to see a different and you're gonna feel a different conviction with the way that I say things versus the way that you choose to read them in the mood that you're in in that moment. Right, even if I put a pretty picture there that just goes with the mood and goes with the theme, you are going to read that in your own emotions in that moment. That's why so many people take posts the wrong way because they are in a mood, they are experiencing some lack, they are stressed out, and then they read your posts and they don't take it always the way that you want it. Now, I'm not saying this is 100% of the time, but there is a small percentage of time that this can indeed happen, and I do believe that there are a lot of people that I absolutely love their written content. I just don't know if they mean it. And so, even though I don't think that you need to be on video to grow a big business today, in 2024, you do believe it's gonna make it a lot easier and you're gonna do it a lot faster because you're gonna build like no interest with your raving fans so much quicker, meaning that you're gonna create revenue much quicker, and so I do believe it is vital. But also it's vital because of the noise. Right, if everybody else is getting on video and you're not, well, the people who hate watching video, you're gonna attract them. But what about the people who need to build that like no interest?

Speaker 1:

In the online space, there's this thing called parasocial relationships, meaning people feel like they know you even though they've never met you and that is because of your presence and how you show up on social media but most likely to have a parasocial relationship. They need to see your face, they need to see the way you talk, they need to see what your mannerisms, your passion, your convictions in the things that you say, right, and they can feel like they know you. It's kind of hard to feel like you know someone just reading their content all the time. It's not. Again, it's not impossible. Remember, these are contradictions, right, it's not impossible. But it's a lot easier to see my facial expressions, my mistakes.

Speaker 1:

When I say I'm in this video I'm sure I've said it several times already, I haven't even counted but it humanizes my content, it humanizes our connection and it also creates relatability through the screen, because you feel like you're starting to get to know me. You watch me long enough, you know what's normal for me, right, and once maybe, mmm, that was a little different video for Chrissy but you also feel the energy behind the screen. You feel if I really mean this or not, or if I'm just coming here to check a box tonight because I said this was part three. It's a little harder to phone it in when you're going to be on video, because I believe that when we open up and we start talking, our passions and our convictions and our purpose and the way that we feel really starts pouring out and your audience feels that energy and it just builds this connection with them.

Speaker 1:

Do you have to get on video? No, but I believe it's a beautiful thing when you can, and I believe visibility can be many, many things, such as video, any type of video. Right, it can be, yes, your photo and a post, it can be you in PR, you on stages, you creating an amazing repetition strategy. It's so much more than video, but video is such a huge part of it Even without video again, contradiction, duality yes, you can build a big business, but why would you want to slow that down? Because I'm assuming you have a goal and you want to get there. And video, I believe wholeheartedly from someone who's been on video since 2016, I believe video can take you there much quicker.
