The visibility hack that makes you look like an authority even if you are new or even if you are new to an industry or a topic, if we don't know each other. My name is Crissy Conner, and I am the visible CEO, and I help you increase your income, your impact, your influence. When it comes to growing your business, everything in your business gets to be visible, and so we're going to talk about that a little bit today. So if you want to look like an expert, even if you're brand new, there are some things that you can do to position yourself as the authority. Number one, it is not about faking it. We're not going to fake it. We're not going to fake it till we make it. We're going to own some things about us and what we do and how we show up, and you're going to see that reflect in the results of everything you do in the online space. So authority, obviously, isn't about pretending. It's about strategically positioning yourself, and so we're going to talk about that today, and how you can do that very simply with a few steps. The first thing that I want to talk about is the shift you have to make the shift that you own what you do. You own that you're the expert. A lot of times people show up and they're like, Well, I'm new. No one's going to pay attention to me. Why should anybody pay attention to me? Why should anybody listen to what I have to say? And quite honestly, that's exactly what you're going to get. You're going to get what you put out. So people aren't going to listen to you. They're not going to take you seriously. And we want to shift that and change that. It all starts with us. If I don't think I'm the visible CEO, guess what? No one else is going to think that. Either, if I don't think that I am the coach for the people who want it and create create additional income, impact and influence again, I'm going to struggle with that, right? And so if you position yourself as I'm just getting started in this industry, right, let's say maybe you've been in business for a while, but maybe you're shifting your focus, or shifting into another topic or industry, you're going to put that energy out there, and people are going to see you as inexperienced, but when you show up convicted with a strong mission and a strong why people are going to take you seriously? If your mission isn't clear enough, you'll struggle to show up with conviction. Right? A lot of times, what I see is people show up want to make money, or I don't want to go back to go back to my nine to five or blah, blah, blah. That's not a good enough why? Almost never. There has to be something deeper that keeps you coming back when it's hard, when it's sucking, right? And so in order to get on video, this is what I've always taught and what I've always said. We won't always do it for ourselves, but we will do it for other people. We will do it for the people that we're trying to help. We will do we will do it for the people that we are trying to serve. So who do you want to serve? Who do you want to support? And are you willing to show up for them, and the results and the life changing that you can do for them? Because I believe everything that we do can change someone's life. Can it change a moment in their life? Can it change their life in many different ways to ripple effects 100% you gotta own that first. Nobody can own that for you. You have to own it first. And so this reminded me of a coach asked us once she said, Could you make $10,000 this week? And a lot of people were like, no, or I don't think so. And she said, Could you make $10,000 this week? If someone that you loved, their life was on the line and you had to find a way to make $10,000 would you make$10,000 everybody said yes, because the why was big enough, right? The Why was important enough, the mission was there, the the conviction was there. And so when we lack conviction, we're going to see everything that we do be more watered down, right? We're going to appear more watered down, which means we're not going to be as magnetic, we're not going to be as attractive character. We're not going to pull people in, and we're most likely not going to stop their school. They're not going to pay attention, right? So the first thing I want to ask is, how strong is your reason? How strong is your why? How strong is your mission, and how strong is your conviction, and are you willing to stand on it, even when it's hard? Are you willing to keep with that mission, with that why, with that conviction, even when things don't go the way that you think they should? Because that's how you know it's a strong enough why it's a strong enough purpose. We all get to have purpose, right? The next thing that I'll say is, and I struggled with this a lot when I first started getting visible, and that is, there are a lot of people smarter than me. And this was back in 2017 there are a lot of people smarter than me. Why should I show up? Right? And so in one of Russell brunson's books, I can't remember which one it was, but he says, you only need to be two chapters ahead. And I was like. Like, okay, well, I'm not two chapters ahead of everybody, but I'm two chapters ahead of a lot of freaking people, right? I know a heck of a lot more. I'm more than two chapters ahead than most people, and so I'm not marketing. I'm not talking to the people who are further ahead than me. I'm talking to the people who are below me, right? Not I hate that word, not below me, but no less than I do about this topic, right? And so that's who I'm here for. And so I want you to think about a book or a show. If you're literally two chapters ahead in a book, you know, a heck of a lot more than that other person. If you're not a book reader, let's say you're netflixing a show, and you're two episodes ahead of somebody else. You know a heck of a lot more of what's coming than the person two episodes behind you. And so if you are waiting for permission, I want you to go after what you want. Now I also want to preface this to say, don't say you can teach people how to make a million bucks. If you've never made a million bucks, come on, that's just an authentic right? But if you've made $10,000 you could teach somebody how to make $10,000 right? And so I want you to be honest and realistic, but don't try to teach people things that you haven't done, right? And I will say this actually, I'll talk about this more in the next one, but let's just, let's go to the next point, because I think it's important. So how I built my authority before I was ready? And mostly I will say I was internally ready. I wasn't internally ready. I was I was questioning, right? Which is, number one, is what I said was, you gotta own it for anybody else can. And if you're not ready to own it. Here is a trick that you can do. Okay? It's actually a great strategy. When I started wanting to do one to many, I was a social media strategist. I helped businesses one on one. I did their social media, I did their ads, I did things like that. And I really wanted to go to the one to many model, meaning I wanted to help group in group in group programs and courses and things like that, and I knew that I could get better at strategy, and especially in many different industries. So I took about 100 seriously, between 2017 and 2018 I took about 100 free 15 minute phone calls. I didn't sell on these phone calls. All I did was pour into people, find out what they were struggling with, find out what questions they had, find out why their business wasn't growing. And I got really freaking good. I realized exactly what my audience needed. I knew how to create offers of what they needed. And I also realized in this process that I can figure out what's wrong in your business and give you advice or strategy to fix it in 15 minutes, that I was really good, but I didn't think I was really good until I was willing to do that, and so I again, learned exactly what my audience needed. I saw where they struggled. I figured out how to serve them better. I learned about so many different industries because I didn't say you have to only be in this industry before I can help you. And so I helped many different industries and many different revenue like people were at different revenues, monthly revenues. And so this was just a great, great exercise for me. I guess I would also call it a strategy, because I learned a lot in the process, but I got better at strategy in the process. So all around I figured out how I could serve and support my audience better, and honestly, I served until I was good, and then I sold when I absolutely knew I was good, and if I could change anything, I would have minded myself and own the fact that I was good way before I did 100 calls, because I questioned myself. And so that's one thing that you can learn from me. Don't question yourself if you know you're freaking good. Own it, right? Own it before anybody else is going to own it, like own it. Um. The other thing is, is that when you have results from other people, like I did 100 strategy calls. I helped a lot of people. We had a lot of ahas. Now, obviously not everybody is going to, like do what I say. Everybody's not going to take my strategy and go implement it. That's a problem we have. There's this big disconnect people don't implement and so but the one, the ones that did got results, and then they told other people about it. And so these are stories that I was able to tell. I was able to talk about my clients results. I was able to talk about my wins, their wins. I was able to share how I helped others and what their transformations look like, right? Like I had a client who was here. They wanted to get here. Here's what we did. Then I 10x their, you know, return on investment, or I 10x their average cart value. Again, just ways that I could talk about this in a story or in a result or transformation based type of content, right, getting on. Getting on a live recording a video and talking about my client's results. It is always going to pull people in. It is a great visibility strategy to pull people in. And the other game changer, I will say, is this, and that is, show up. Show up. People ask me all the time. They're like, I want to start a business. I'm not 100% sure exactly what I want to do right now, but I just know I want to start a business. What? What? What should I do in the meantime? And I'm like, Okay, well, first of all, get visible. Fill in relationships, because relationships matter, and start teaching what you do know, even if that's not what you're going to land on. Start positioning yourself now, right? You can also get interviewed, be on podcasts, do guest lives, put yourself out there, visibility. I think a lot of times, people wait to be chosen, or they wait to be put on a stage. And honestly, you get to create your stage. That's what visibility allows you to do, create the stage. Choose Yourself, own what you do, be more specific about what you do, be different, differentiate yourself from everybody else, and own your place in the marketplace. Own your space in the marketplace. Decide this is who I am, this is what I do. This is who I'm going to serve and support. And honestly, nobody's going to ask, Oh, you're really new at this, because all you need to be is those two steps ahead, those two chapters ahead, with results, yours, other people's, maybe people you've helped for free, but really owning that, you can transform somebody's life and they are not going to be able to walk away from you. They are not going to be able to be like, I don't feel it right. Because when you say these things with conviction, when you say these things with a full body, like embodiment, right? You believe it in your soul, and you show up that way, it's going to be a game changer. You're going to start seeing more people react. You're going to start seeing more people DM you. You're going to start seeing more people want what you have to offer. Because you decided to stand in your power, you decided to own your space, you decided to be the one, and you didn't wait for anybody else to validate you. You didn't wait for anybody else's permission, and you decided that you had your own evidence and your own validation, and you didn't need it from anybody else. Do.
