Your Voice Is Bigger Than the Algorithm

Let me give you an example of exactly what I mean when I say this. So let's say you are speaking in person. Let's say there are 10, 20 people in the room, okay? It's not a big group, but obviously they're in real life with you, right? And they're in person. And I want to ask you, when you are speaking to this group, right, of 10 to 20 people, are you speaking to 10 to 20 people? Or are you speaking to those people plus all of the people that they are connected to? Meaning they're going to leave that room. They're going to walk out of that room and go tell someone else about you. They're going to walk out of that room and text a friend. They're going to walk out of that room and tag you in a photo that they took of you on stage because you blew their freaking minds. This is very similar to how many of us are showing up online. We're showing up for the people that we see comment. We're showing up for the people that we see like. We're showing up for the people that talk to us in our DMs. We show up for the people who maybe share or cheer us on. But we're not showing up for the people who we don't have proof that are watching. And we're not showing up for the people that haven't started watching yet. Now, this is a game changer. When you understand this, it's a game changer because your voice is bigger than you. Your voice is bigger than the algorithm. Your voice is bigger than the current audience that you have, especially if you do any type of video content. Because it is getting outside of the room, air quote, that you're in and it's getting outside of that. So we think a lot of times we're just speaking to the audience that's on while we're live or the few people that maybe comment. And we're like, I'm just talking to them. And that's where the mistake is made. Because when we are not talking to the potential, the potentiality of our reach, then we are not planting seeds for those who are coming next. There are so many people who watch you in silence. You never say anything. They never give you the instant gratification. I found this out back in 2020, 2021, when I would launch things and people would buy and I'd never spoken to them before. Huge game changer. So there are people watching you in silence, waiting to see what you do next. There are people watching in silence waiting to see what you do first. Interesting, right? We think that the size of the room is like that's as far as we can go, right? Just like that scenario. I told you if you're speaking on stage and there's 10 to 20 people. Do you think that's the only people that you're speaking to? I mean, maybe if you don't land it, right? If you don't leave them with a feeling, but if you leave them with just like this presence and this energy that they can't get out of their head, they're going to go talk about you to other people positively, right? So your audience is truly who's watching, but your potentiality of how far that can go, go so much further. It's so much further than your current circle. It's so much further than your current followers or subscribers or whatever you call it on different platforms, right? It's going so much further than that. But if we play small, right? And we keep speaking to, you know, the amount of followers that I currently have, right? Because that's all who's well, you know, 10% of those are probably watching, right? And if we keep thinking that way, we're going to show up that way. We're going to shrink our voice. We're going to play small. And then we'll never have that potentiality to get outside of our current audience, right? So I want you to stop showing up for who you see watching and start showing up for who's ready for what you've got, who's ready for where you want to take them. The algorithm isn't your audience, your future clients are. And if you keep playing to the algorithm, keep playing to the people that are watching, you're not going to get outside of that. Another thing that I think we forget is that our content isn't meant for everyone. It's not. And if we keep saying, I want everyone to love this, I want everyone to like me, you're going to be so-so content. You really get to be misunderstood and be okay with being misunderstood because it's about being undeniable to the right people. Like they feel the energy, they feel what you have to say, and they want what you have. This could be one live, one post, one story can change everything for you and your ideal person that's watching if you're willing to get over yourself, if you're willing to put yourself out there, if you're willing to stop or to be misunderstood, right? You're not for everyone. You're not for everyone. And the more that you understand that, the more you're going to connect with your person. You must be willing to be misunderstood in order to be magnetic, plain and simple, right? Being the evidence that boldness is safe, that leadership is magnetic, and clarity is going to cut through all the noise. The more that you can do that as you show up online, the more people, your people, you're going to attract. So your voice is not just for this moment. It's for truly the movement or the mission that you're trying to build. I know that some people shrink when I talk about these things, right? And we shrink into our voice, and we shrink into our safe space, and we shrink into the typical topics that we like to talk about, right? So shrinking doesn't protect people. If you think about it, playing small is selfish, right? Shrinking doesn't protect people. It just withholds the potential transformation that you can help them with. How many people that just blow your mind? It withholds the transformation that you could support your audience with, that you could support your future clients with. If you silence your voice because you want to make others comfortable, someone who needed you won't hear you. And every time you hold back, you're delaying someone else's breakthrough. That's one that's just like, I can't. You know, back in the day, when I struggled showing up on video back in 2016, you know, that was one of the things that helped me actually get on video, was because it wasn't about me. It was about my person. And so every time you hold back, you delay someone else's breakthrough with whatever the thing is that you serve and support them with. We also get to understand there's this long game of impact. A lot of us want to go viral. Go viral in their soul. Go viral in their heart. Go viral in their mind. Play the long game of impact, not the short game of applause. That right there will be a game changer for you. And then you want to speak like the woman who knows she's building something bigger than views. It's so much bigger, right? When you are showing up as a true leader that you are, you cannot fake that leadership energy. The alignment that you have with the words that you're saying, right, or the words maybe you're typing on your screen, alignment sounds different. If I believe in what I'm saying versus I'm unsure about what I'm saying, there's a different sound in both of those. And it's not like your audience says, oh, she doesn't believe what she's saying, but they just feel there's a disconnect and they're just going to move on by. But true conviction and true confidence and true belief and knowing, it's really hard to ignore. Your voice is a muscle. So you can practice using it or you can lose it. I was talking to someone about doing video content. And whenever I challenge myself, I get into this thing where I like to back away and not get on video as much. I've done all these videos in March, right? And let's say I back away and I said, I'm going to take a break in April. If I go to do a video in May, it's going to be so hard, right? Because I stopped using the muscle of getting on video, of using my voice. It makes it that much harder. It's just like going to the gym. So to recap this, this is not about more content. This is about legacy level, clarity, conviction, leadership, which starts with self-leadership. I go first. And it's interesting because I feel this and I used to shrink in my own message because I wanted to be like, I wanted everybody to like me. I didn't want to get any hate. I didn't want to get any nasty comments, right? And so I used to shrink into my own message until I realized that's being so-so. When I press live, I'm no longer just a coach or a mentor. I'm a leader. I'm making impact, right? And if I can't own that, then I get to self-reflect and work on that. So when you're ready to lead, when you're ready to make sure that your voice is being heard, when you're ready to use your voice more, this is where you want to work with me in a one-on-one container.
