On today's episode, we are gonna talk about how do I get seen outside of my current audience? I hear this all the time. I don't have a lot of followers. It doesn't matter, by the way. I know one's seeing my content. So this episode is going to give you four things that I would be doing if I wanted to get outside of the audience that I currently have. Stay tuned because I know all four of these are gonna serve and support you in ways that you haven't thought about. And if you're not ready to implement all four right away, still take notes because I know again, this is something you can add in to your marketing strategy as you move forward and grow your business. Okay, so how do I get seen outside of my current audience? This is a question I hear all the time. This is something that we all should be doing. consistently, I don't care where you're at in your business. Like you always want to be growing and you always want to be evolving. And this is a great way to do that. So the first thing I'm going to say is that we get to create content that gets outside of our current audience. And if you know me and if you've been around for a while, you've heard this many different times, but you're going to hear it again and you're going to get outside of your current audience. And that is video, video. video. More specifically, we're going to talk about short form video. But if you think about Facebook reels, we think about Instagram reels, if you think about tic tocs, if you think about LinkedIn doing short form video, even if you think about YouTube, right and doing again, short form video, you are going to get outside of your current subscribers of your current followers of your current friends, that is the content that is going to be more public because the platforms know that this is the dopamine hit. that your audience wants. And so they are going to show this outside if you look at any reels that you have, if you look at any YouTube shorts that you have, even your Facebook reels, like these are going to be the opportunity where you see that you have more non followers than followers actually looking at this type of content. Now, it doesn't mean I just go out there and throw out some short from video and you know, post it and they'll come right. It's very similar to anything else. We wanna be very specific with this short form video content because number one, it needs to be created in a mobile format, even though some landscape will go to the Reels feeds or the short form feeds, we wanna focus on the mobile feed because number one, when people are looking at content on their phones, which the majority of us are, it's gonna take up so much more space and it's gonna be more pleasing visually to the person who is watching that content. Now, this is another opportunity to hook them in like we've got to hook them in. We got to pull them in from right the beginning, right? And also say something that gets them to stay for the entire 1530 60 up to three minutes that you can create a real or tick tock now and still be considered that short form video, right? And so we want to hook them in. And one of the ways that we can do this is really knowing and nailing down who our person is, knowing what they're asking, knowing what they're struggling with. Because when we understand what they truly desire, what they're struggling with, what they want solved, you're going to be golden. Okay, so this is a great opportunity for you to really get outside of your audience with things that maybe you're not quite doing fully, but if you did this consistently, this is going to get outside of your current audience, okay? The second thing is, and it kind of piggybacks off number one, but we wanna create content for our reach. Now, most of the time we are creating content for the audience that we currently have. if you've, let's say you've been on a platform for 10 years, okay, maybe it's only eight, maybe it's only seven, it doesn't matter. But you didn't start promoting your business until, I don't know, you're using the same platform or the same, what's it called? Why can't it come to my mind? Profile, you're using the same profile. And the majority of the time you used it maybe as a personal profile and now it's turned into your business profile or maybe you shifted in your business or your brand and you used to talk about one thing and now you talk about something else. Your ideal audience may not be your or your audience may not be your ideal audience, right? And so how do we fix that? Well, we speak to the actual reach going back to number one, we're getting outside of our audience, especially today because even if you've listened to Gary Vee lately, he talks about how much more things are gonna be interest based, right? So you're talking to your potential reach because if you're only talking to the audience you have, you're rarely gonna grow. But if you talk to the audience that the potential audience you could have, and that means let's look at our audience members, right? So on average, most people are connected to about 200 people on social media. So if you have let's say, let's say you have something small, like 200 followers, right? 200 friends, 200 subscribers, whatever. And they all have 200, right? That's a potential of 40,000 people you could reach. Okay. Obviously on some platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels, you can be much more than that because it doesn't hold you with who the audience you currently have is, but we wanna get outside of that audience, right? Another quick tip that I would suggest on doing this specifically if Instagram is one of your main platforms is to use trial Reels. Now I'm telling you this in June of 2025, don't know how much longer that's gonna last. But right now in this moment is a great opportunity to completely get outside of your current audience, your current followers. And it doesn't even show till your followers until you make sure it's shown to everyone. It goes outside, it almost tests that real, right? So again, we wanna be creating video content for our reach, right? Not our followers. And again, so getting outside of our followers, especially if we create that short form content, we understand. what our reach who the people that we really want to work with what they desire and what they're looking for is going to get outside of your current subscribers followers, whatever you call them, right? Depending on the platform you're on. All right. So one and two are very similar and three or four are very similar, but they all work. Okay. So number three, we're going to get outside of our current audience on audio. We're going to promote ourselves for podcasts to be a guest. You can go to any Facebook group if you look, if you search for be a guest and join those Facebook groups and look at the ways that some other people are promoting themselves to be a guest. Have like three talking points is really important. Telling them who your ideal audience is so that they can make sure it's aligned with their show. This is going to be huge. You can also go to shows that you love and you think you would be a great fit for. I would always send an email and actually listen to their show to make sure you understand why you would be a great fit for it and share that with them. But I love a tool called PodMatch and I'll drop my affiliate link in the show notes. PodMatch actually does all of this for you. Every four hours you get three new possible matches. You can search and actually reach out to a podcast host. I am a guest and a host on pod match. So I love this service. There is a cost for it. But my gosh, it keeps everything organized. It gives you so much training on being a guest, you can get outside opportunities by being on there I got to be on they get over 1000 I think applications to be on their live event that they do four times a year, and they only pick 40 people. And so I they reached out to me to ask me to be a part of that again. If I wouldn't have been a part of pod match, that would never been an opportunity I would have gotten. So again, it's one of those things you can cancel anytime, but I challenge you to try it out, check it out because whether you are a host or a guest or you want to do both, like it is a great platform. And if you go through all the training videos, like I'm telling you, it organizes everything for you and makes your life so much easier. Okay, and then number four, again, very similar to number three, but outside of your current audience on video, this is doing joint Facebook lives. This is doing interviews. It can be Instagram lives, TikTok lives, LinkedIn lives, it can be lives, it can be just joint interviews, where you interview each other and you put it on each other's platform. And again, you're in front of other people's audiences. Okay, this is always a win win situation. And I'm gonna give you one more opportunity because this is a bonus, but I have seen this really blow up people's accounts. And not that I am here promoting to go viral, because I would rather you go viral on people's hearts, and souls, but this can really help get you outside of your current audience. And that is to, I don't know what Instagram calls it, but TikTok calls it stitching. So you basically take somebody's video and you riff off the end of it. or you can do a duet where you take somebody else's video and you're beside of it, like making faces or adding your own commentary, whatever that is. But that is a great way to get in front of other people's audiences as well, because if that video is already doing really well, most likely you stitching it or doing a duet with that is also going to serve and support you. And again, you'll see that on TikTok, you'll see that on Reels. you'll when you go like you're gonna share the on either platform, it will ask if you want to stitch it, duet it. Again, I don't remember what it's called on. I think it's duet on reels when you do side by side. I don't know what it's called when you stitch it on reels, but if you go to share it, you will find it there. And I will actually research it after the show and type it in the show notes so that you have the information there. So these are the four plus the bonus things that I would absolutely do to get outside of my current audience that I have. It is a win win. And again, the more consistently you do this, I have a goal of being on 24 podcasts this year. And again, every time I am it links back to my freebies, it links back to my website. So it's more credibility. It's putting me out there in front of other people. Again, doing joint lives. Again, I'm seeing an from somebody else's audience, they're seen from my audience, it's a win-win, so much value from this. And then again, creating the type of content that is going to go outside of your current audience into your reach on any platform. And honestly, this goes and goes by knowing really, honestly, it's by knowing your person. It's by knowing them so well that you know exactly what they're saying and they feel like you're in their head. They're going to pay attention. They're going to stop their scroll and they're going to listen when they feel like you're speaking directly to them.
