Most leaders don't struggle with what to say. They struggle with how they feel when they say it. When it comes to camera confidence, it's not about the hype. It's not about the filters. It's not about perfection. It truly is about grounded conviction and really leading with true presence. The thing about being a leader is it's really hard to be a leader if nobody knows who you are, right? And maybe you have in-person things and... You're a leader there, but you want to be a leader also in the online space. The leader in whatever your industry is. The thing is, that camera confidence really matters for leaders because visibility equals trust. And I will say in every industry, but if you are in an industry where you're taking care of people's finances, where you have something to do with their security, where you are asking people things about their health and their mental health and things like that, that's even more trust. Right? Because you've got to build trust or people are not going to be fully honest with you. And so when visibility equals trust, really is when trust scales leadership faster than any other marketing hack there is. When you're confident on camera, people believe in you. They believe in your message. They believe in your energy. And trust me, they can feel it. When it comes to women entrepreneurs, your conviction gives permission for other people to show up imperfectly too. It is not about perfection. It is not about never saying, or never getting hives, or never having an eyebrow that looks different than the other one. I've had all these things happen, right? I'm still showing up. The truth about confidence is it's not born from perfection. We think everything has to be perfect. but it's really built through putting in the reps and your presence. Confidence is felt. You can't fake it. My earlier videos, I was nowhere close to being confident. And I'm pretty sure if I tried to fake it, I didn't do a very good job. But I did them so much that I built that self confidence by knowing I would show up by knowing I was going to keep my word to myself by putting in the reps by getting better every video I get better every podcast I record, I get better. Every post I type out, I get better. Every person I coach, I get better. We only get better by putting in the reps and it also builds confidence at the same time. You don't magically just know how to get on video and be confident. You get on video and be confident because you've put in the reps and you've done it over and over and over. You don't need to feel ready to be confident because confidence will grow through doing it while you're scared, by overcoming your fears. by doing it anyhow, no matter how scared, worried about what to say that you feel. know, confidence is created even more when we do things we're uncomfortable with. The other thing is, that we think hype and sometimes there's a place for hype. I'm not going to lie. There's times I'm hyping and I'm like, you know, trying to motivate people and blah, blah, blah. But the confidence, the backs that that's the embodiment. That is the embodiment. And not everyone is like, go, go, high pipe, high. Let me run, run, run. Let me, you know, like throw my hands up in the air and wave some pom poms before I get on video. Some people need to get in video and sometimes I need to get in video in a grounded way. I'm gonna tell you how I do this. So I typically am sitting or standing in front of wherever I'm getting ready to record. And if I sit, I'm sitting straight up, my feet are on the ground and I'm breathing, right? Taking some deep breaths in, deep breaths out. And I start to think about my person. I start to think about her problems and how I know they can be solved if she was just more visible. And I know she's dealing with all the problems she has right now in this moment. And I know how bad I want to solve that problem for her. And so I close my eyes. And I imagine who this person is for. It can also be like an avatar. It can be a past client. And then I imagine the hundreds more that are experiencing the same problem. and I'm taking deep breaths and I feel like I'm just like pushing this energy out to them. and feel so grounded. Like I feel this tingling and I open my eyes. And I realize I don't need a script. I just need to speak my truth. I'm not here to impress. I'm not here for people to find me interesting. I'm here to be so interested in their problem that I'm going to make an impact. I'm here to change one person's day, that's it. Anything more, if I change their life, if I change more than one person's day, anything else is a bonus. And I believe with every single video that I put out there, I am affecting, changing, facilitating change in someone. Otherwise I wouldn't be doing it. Another way that you can get confident on camera is to have a hype song ritual. Now, again, I use all of these, so it really just depends on the mood that I'm in, so feel free to use all of these as well. But right now, if you're listening to this in real time, Taylor Swift just dropped a new album. I'm obsessed. I'm listening to the music. I feel hyped. I feel confident. I'm ready to go. Get on camera, right? So think about the song that makes you feel like you can do anything. Music regulates your energy and emotions. It's not fluff. It is a trigger for confidence. I mean, also, I feel like I am a professional Dancing with the Stars dancer when I hear music. I know that's very far off, but in my mind, I am, right? And if I'm dancing, before I get on video, nobody's seeing the dancing. Sometimes I dance on video, but rarely. And so you let the music lead you. You let that energy and that emotion regulate you and get you ready to get on video. The other thing is I like to say it when I feel it. Because if I wait, I lose it. There is nothing more powerful than recording in the moment when you're fired up, when you're inspired, when you're emotional. Perfection is the enemy of connection. You are going to struggle connecting with them if you try to wait to make things perfect. People are never gonna connect with your polishedness. They're gonna connect with your presence, your energy, the way that you feel it, the conviction that you have. And there is no better time than when you are feeling something or you hear something and it triggers something or activates something in you and you go record it right then and there. The other thing that we fail to do is capture moments that are full of momentum. Like if you have a win, if a client has a win, if you have a breakthrough, if you have a comeback, like get on video. That emotion is going to be so infectious. You want to talk about magnetic? It's going to be so connecting with your audience. So connecting. We want to encourage people to like, I want you to document these energy peaks when they show up. And I really want you to show up and share. How did you get there? What happened? What was the breakthrough? Blah, blah, blah. Give it to us. You can record it, you can go live, can break it up into smaller videos. But show and stop hiding those wins and those breakthroughs. Let people see those moments. You can breathe and believe and begin. Ground your body. Believe, believe and know and with certainty what your message is and who it's meant for. And I always believe if I'm trying to speak to the masses, it's not going to land. But if I am speaking to my camera, like I'm speaking to one person, it's going to land and it's going to connect. When it comes to camera confidence, it is not about getting it perfect. It's about trusting yourself enough to know that all you want for the end person that you support and you serve is to facilitate change in their life, to get them a result. And trusting yourself enough to know that you can do that and also pressing record. If you need help with camera confidence, let's get a call, let's chat about it, and I want to help you show up like the leader that you are and the one in your industry that can't be stopped.
