Today I'm sharing everything I've done in 2026 to get better at my work because I believe if you want to be the best at what you do, you have to be first the best student of your work. I recently took two weeks off from this podcast. No episodes, no drops, nothing. And the thing I kept coming back to in The Quiet was one question: How do I get better at what I do? What have I done in 2026? What am I gonna do moving forward? I am a strong believer in testing. Matter of fact, yes, there are a lot of challenges I've given myself, like the 100 lives in July and 200 lives in July, but those were also testing. What happens if I maximize my video output for a month? What happens in March of 2025 when I go live on every platform I can actually go live on? Like what happens? What happens?~ in the last few weeks when I've been doing two to four, sometimes up to 10 reels a day when I'm testing on trial reels. Like what happens? We don't know these things unless we do them. And so when you are the best student of rework, what are you doing? You should be testing. Yes, not everybody is a social media person, but there's something you can test. You can test adding certain foods into your diet. You can test lifting a little bit more, and you can test so many things. You can test form. You can test having a client who's going through something similar that another client went through and maybe, you know, using that same framework and seeing if it works for them too. Again, so many ways that you can test. But enough us enough of us aren't doing that. We're just doing the thing that we're used to doing. And how do you improve by doing the same thing over and over again? You don't. And so what I want to share with you today are The things that have been my priority in 2026, what is my priority at through the end of 2026, and what all I've been doing? Because we need to be keeping our skills top of mind. And again, we need to be testing, we need to be doing things. I'm not the smartest person in the room. I am really, really good at a lot of stuff. But you know what? I'm gonna be great one day. And so I love Myron Golden, always talks about this. He says, you know, he's got like five more years. Before he's really, really great at YouTube and he like already has a million followers, but he doesn't believe he's great yet, right? Because he has a lot more time and reps to put in. And so the thing that I've known about myself is that everything that I've sucked at, I've put in the reps and I got better. And there are some things that I'm really good at that I also get to put the reps in and test and do better. And so There is this belief sometimes that we are air quote good enough. You're already good at what you do. Right. And so you stop examining it. And when you think about getting better at something you're already good at, it's a different skill than getting good in the first place. You know, it's one of the things that I always learned about money mindset. Like you're always gonna have money box, imposter syndrome. You're always gonna some type of imposture syndrome. So every level you you've got to realize or reframe it or shift your perspective on how you get out of that. We don't do that magically, it's learning from other people, it's testing ourselves. It's so many things. But when I found is when we study our own work, like it can be really beautiful and eye-opening. And the thing that I can tell you is that what works in 2026 is not what worked two years ago. Things evolve. People evolve. And I'll also say that even the hype with being perfectly curated video is not the hype that it used to be because AI helps everyone's videos be perfectly curated. So today, in 2026, people want more real raw They want more mistakes. They want more ums. They don't want you cutting out all of the filler words. You know, that's why the yap challenge like popped off because people are already tired of AI. They're exhausted. They want more real. And the only way you're going to connect with your audience is through the real, not the fake. AI stands for artificial intelligence. Real is natural, organic. It is you, And so that's what we want. We want more of that and that and that testing and and how to be a better student of our work. So some of the things that I have been focusing on 2026 is number one being visible to AI. That has shifted my entire messaging because it is so important. Yes, the feed's important. And I was working on how to explain this to people. You know, one of the things I came up with this past week was the feed is for speed, which is true. You're not gonna launch a product unless you've got over a million followers on YouTube. You're not gonna launch a product there. You're gonna launch a product on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok. Like LinkedIn, like that's where you're gonna launch. But the long game is what builds your name. So that gets you the stages, that gets you the magazines, that gets you all those things. It gets you searched, it gets you recommended by AI. So both are important. This the feed is the speed, the long game builds your name. We need both. a in the perfect diversification ~ visibility ecosystem, I would say you would want both. And the only reason you don't need the the long game is if you don't plan on being in business in five years. If you're like I'm I'm I just gonna build my feed and if I lost Instagram tomorrow or whatever my favorite platform is, I'd be okay. Then okay, good you do you. But most people that is not gonna be enough. And most people want to also be searchable and recommended by AI. And the only way you do that is by combining the feed and combining the long game both have to be a priority in your in your visibility strategy, in your visibility ecosystem, your marketing ecosystem, whatever you want to call it. And so that was the first thing that I noticed this year The first thing that I wanted to blow my mind out of the water with was this. And I did. And it's been a beautiful, beautiful journey and taking my clients on it and so many things. The other thing that I do Probably at least once a quarter is I get really, really tight on my messaging. And I will say this that AI's been really good I can give AI these guidelines and say, I need you to drill me on this. I need you to not accept like passive answers. I need you to not accept watered down versions of my person. Like I need you to go hard and and dig deep. Like we're gonna do that, the why like seven times, like peel in the layers of the onion back. Like I want you to go so hard on me. And so I do this about every three months. And I literally want to kick my computer through the window. And so I knew with this messaging that I am shifting, that I needed support with that. And so that's one of the things that I have been working with a coach on is really getting deeper on my messaging. I've been working with a coach on getting better at my hooks. Again, hooks are just like anything else. Eventually people get used to them. And when they get used to hooks, what does that mean? We've got to change up the game. We've got to do something different. We can't do the same thing. The eight secrets that are going to change your you know, wait till you see number five. Like everybody's heard those, So we have to switch it up. How are we gonna switch it up? So when we think about like when we think about our being a student of our work, if you do your own marketing, again, you are too close. You do your own visibility. You are too close. And so I am just obsessed with growth. I am obsessed with getting uncomfortable and asking and sharing your messaging in front of a group of people that you think could possibly be judging you, right? Like it's so uncomfortable to get feedback in front of other people. But it's so juicy, friends. It's so good. And it's one of the reasons in Omni, I actually added a midweek feedback. We do feedback all the time in the visible inner circle, but I wanted to add something to Omni and I was like, this would be brilliant. Now, not everybody's gonna ask for feedback, but I know the ones that do are gonna get amazing feedback and other people are gonna be able to learn from that. And that's huge. Another thing that I realized was that after ending 365, which was my daily drop program, that I miss speaking to my clients all the time. And so another perk that we added in Omni was omnipresence FM radio. And so that has been a lot of fun being able to start that back and just because I always have takeaways and I always want to share them somewhere. that has been a lot of fun as well. And so I want you to think about where can you be a better student of your work? Where can you test? Where can you show up differently? Because listen, again, I can't do run the same thing in 2026 that I did in 2025. It's not going work. And the things that I'm running in 2026 aren't going to work in 2027, right? We get to build on them. We get to evolve. We get to And the only way we do that is by stretching ourselves, testing ourselves, challenging ourselves, getting out of our comfort zone. You know, it's one of the reasons that inside the shift, which is the 21-day shift where we're doing face-to-cam video, is I'm like, okay, week one, we're gonna go easy on you. Week two is gonna get a little more stretchy. Week three, we're going all out. We are gonna stretch you so much in week three because that's again, how do you grow? So I want you to think about this. Where are you missing the mark? Where are you not growing? Where are you not getting better? And sometimes we don't know, right? We don't know. But here's the the lens that I look at everything through. When my business, my life, anything starts feeling like Groundhog Day. It's like the same in, the same day in and day out. I know it's time for a change. I've got to throw myself a challenge, throw myself the testing. I get to do something. Because if I'm not growing, guess who else isn't growing? My clients. If I'm not growing, I'm I I'm gonna struggle teaching. new things and keeping up with strategies and keeping up with what's going on in all the algorithms and what's going on with ~ AI visibility. Like again, if I am not keeping up with that, my clients suffer. And a lot of my clients have also clients they do marketing for. And so then their clients suffer. And it's it's that real, it's that ripple effect. And so I want to challenge you like where can the ripple effects that you put out into the world be more potent when you become a better student of your work? You can also think about not just adding and and becoming a better student of your work, per se, like I'm going to learn something new, but sometimes we need to subtract things. Sometimes we need to to prune and trim and take things out of our life. And so there's a lot of things that I realized in 2026 that weren't as big of a priority as they were in past years. Probably the thing that I deleted was putting out tons of content every single day. And what I did with that was I edited and got more potent in the content I put out. Meaning I want my content to be more potent so it's gonna last longer. Now there are some days I get on a roll and I'm just like, I need to post like twenty things because it's on my head and I want it's in my brain and I wanna get it out into the world. But for the most part, I have not posted as much in twenty twenty six as I have in every other year. And there's a lot more on the feed. There's a lot more competition. So how do I compete with that? I get more potent. I get better at my hooks. I get better at my video. I get better at face to cam. I get better at testing. So what do you need to improve on? What do you need to stop doing? And I will say the last thing, the thing that surprised me the most was how much easier it was to get visible to AI, to get a Google Knowledge panel, because I already have been teaching this stuff since 2020. I've been teaching this to my clients. Every single thing is diversified visibility. I just focus more on video. And so one of the things in my messaging that I've shifted to is you don't need to be a social media superstar to be visible. We can find your visibility archetype and we can build off that. I've had clients who have built their business from physical stages. I've had clients who are so searchable that they don't have to post on social media if they don't want to. I have clients who ~ have built their business and booked out for the entire by Google My Business. So I have so many clients that do different things from me and still grow six-figure, multi-six-figure businesses. So it doesn't have to be Chrissy's way. And that's the beautiful thing that I discovered in 2021. It doesn't have to be my way. A lot of people want to do it my way, and that's great. And visible and video particular has a huge, huge effect on your business. And I think everyone should do video. To an extent, I don't think they need to do video the way that I do video. Video lights me up. The more I'm on video, the better I feel. The more I'm on video, the more leads I'm getting. The more I'm on video, the more my feeds are growing. Because I love it and I'm obsessed with it. But if I come to a point where I'm not loving it, I'm gonna pull back and I'm gonna find something else that I love and pour my heart into that when it comes to visibility. So where can you be a better student of your work? Where do you get to focus? What do you get to do? We are too close to our marketing, to our messaging, to our content to be. A critical observer, I guess is the word I'm looking for. But we're too close. Even AI can only get you so far. Even with all the rules I give it to be mean to me basically and make me work for it. AI can only take it so far. And so I want to challenge you. How can you be better at your work? The thing that you do, the thing that makes you money, but also how can you get better at making money and selling and being visible and doing all the things that are gonna help you grow and attract your people. I'd love to hear what your thoughts are on this episode. I'd love for you to share it to a friend. I'd love to know where are you being the best student of your work leave me a message and don't forget to share this episode.
